I, while not new to MMA, have only recently discovered this here forum and would like to share a game I made based off of Minecraft. It is called MyCraft and is as spacious as 8,000 lines when translated to JS. However, I will not be doing this until after a competition I really hope people will do (I get the feeling no one will be interested, but here it is.)
Here’s the competition: Everyone willing to participate will create a Minecraft-based game. It can be a platformer or…I don’t know what a regular tilemap game is called, but one of those. It can be any theme or thing as long as it is within a distinct Minecraft theme. I’m hoping to learn from all of y’all how to really make an MMA game because mine, while I originally thought of as high-tier, all fall short of the complexity yours show. Deadline is November 1st.
I’ll be judging and declaring a winner and perhaps someone can find a way to ask Richard to award them with a badge or something if this becomes big. Also, if anyone else really wants to be judge or multiple someones a committee will be formed with each member submitting a winner and then fighting each other to decide who wins the whole thing. I’d really love to see all those legendary past Game Jam winners in action.
Speaking of legendary…
I’m sorry but I had to ask. How popular am I? Rather, because no one knows me due to my very recent MMA Forum joining, how popular do people think I will become on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being me right now and 10 being legendary and perhaps even a game jam winner? (I don’t know how to make a table so plz just comment your answer)

@MyCraft_Steve just a tip, you should use a title on polls so ppl can’t do this

If you mean a flat, bird’s-eye view game, it’s called open world, or top-down.

The competition will begin November 15th, but anyone who wants to start early can for sure get ahead of the game! Submissions are not legitimate until…we’ll say Dec 1st, however, so make sure to fine-tune and refine your games! Remember, just Minecraft-based. Anything with any Minecraft theme, so long as it’s always present, is fine. The competition ends December 23rd. Good luck!
So far we have @TheEarth , @RoboVacDev , @micahlikestocode , and possibly @not_a_lemon joining, is that correct? Does anyone else feel like joining? There’s still quite a while to go!
MyCraft will be released with the winner’s name on December 23rd. Looking forward to seeing all your games!
