We are preparing for a game development boot camp and plan to use MakeCode arcade to build Pacman. The boot camp is between July 15th-31st, 2020.

We are using the beta version and would like to know which animation blocks to use. We followed the below article and the animations are working fine. Can we stick to this method or should we use a different block?

> You can use the MakeCode Arcade pixel sprite editor to create your own animated characters. Then, learn how to trigger animation with the movement buttons of your controller. Finally, you can play your game on the Adafruit pybadge!

You can use those blocks! The other blocks are a little friendlier and let you use the animation editor, which has some nice affordances for making multiple frames.

For more complex games, I’ve been making an extension to merge the two ideas behind the sets of blocks. You can check it out here: [https://github.com/riknoll/character-animations](https://github.com/riknoll/character-animations)

Thank you for the reply. I will try out the 'animate my sprite … ’ block.
