# \[Announcement\] MakeCode Arcade Mini Game Jam #19 - Boss Rush!

Hey folks!
It’s the first Monday of the month, which means it’s mini game jam time!
This month, our theme [comes to us](https://forum.makecode.com/t/idea-for-mini-gamejam-19/28523) from @_jupiter. That’s right! It’s BOSS RUSH time!
Games for this jam should center around **boss battles**. That’s really the only restriction on the theme, so feel free to get creative! Also, even though it’s a “rush”, you don’t need to make more than one boss if you don’t want to. Some good interpretations of this theme:
- A final fantasy style game where you fight a super boss with a [ridiculously impractical health total](https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Omega_Weapon_(Final_Fantasy_VIII)#:~:text=At%20level%20100%2C%20Omega%20Weapon%20has%20over%20a%20million%20HP.%20It%20is%20always%20at%20level%20100%20in%20the%20PlayStation%20version)
- A mega-man style series of robot battles where each defeat unlocks a weapon that is the weakness of another robot (also they should each have [a silly gimmick](https://megaman.neoseeker.com/wiki/Top_Man))
- A conversational boss battle where you resolve things non-violently by [communicating your feelings](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I-message) instead of duking it out
The world is truly your oyster.
## Rules
1. Games should be built in MakeCode Arcade
2. Games should clearly adhere to the theme without the need for any extra explanation
3. Keep the games PG: no NSFW, offensive, or excessively violent content.
4. You must be at least 9 years old to participate.
5. All games must be submitted by someone who is at least 13 years old. Younger students are welcome to participate, but it must be in partnership with an adult and with parent permission.
You have three weeks to enter! The jam will close at **11:59 PM PDT on Monday, May 27th 2024**
