Hey folks! It’s the first Monday of the month, so it’s time for a new mini game jam! The theme this month comes to us [courtesy of](https://forum.makecode.com/t/my-game-jam-ideas/29090/3) @AlexK. That’s right! It’s time for an **Olympics Jam**! For this jam, we want to see games that are inspired by the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic games. That could be a game about the games themselves, one of the events represented in the games, or even based on one of the many tiktok memes that the athletes have spawned so far. It’s up to you! Some examples of good interpretations of this theme: - A game like [Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario_%26_Sonic_at_the_Olympic_Games) which I am still surprised exists every time I think about it! How does anyone beat Sonic in track? Does he have to wear metal weights like he’s in some sort of anime training sequence? I guess we’ll never know! - A [breakdancing](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elite_Beat_Agents) or [skateboarding](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OlliOlli) game! - A game for a made up sport that you wish existed, like the games in [Sportsfriends](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sportsfriends) - Or a game about [chocolate muffins I guess](https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/31/world/olympics/olympic-chocolate-muffin-henrik-christiansen.html)? You can interpret it however you like as long as it’s obvious how your game relates to the theme. Also, **no winter sports** obviously ## Rules 1. Games should be built in MakeCode Arcade 2. Games should clearly adhere to the theme without the need for any extra explanation 3. Keep the games PG: no NSFW, offensive, or excessively violent content. 4. You must be at least 9 years old to participate. 5. All games must be submitted by someone who is at least 13 years old. Younger students are welcome to participate, but it must be in partnership with an adult and with parent permission. You have three weeks to enter! The jam will close at **11:59 PM PDT on Monday, August 26th 2024**. We will be playing all the submissions on our livestream on the Friday after the jam closes, so look forward to that! Submit your games by posting them in this thread! ---
