You may or may not know that next week is CSEd Week! This means that people everywhere are encouraged to learn how to code. In celebration, we’ll be launching a new official Game Jam! This one runs from **THIS MONDAY (12/4) through Sunday 12/17**. The theme will be posted on [aka.ms/GameJam](https://aka.ms/GameJam) at 12:01am on 12/4. > **[MakeCode Arcade Game Jam](https://arcade.makecode.com/gamejam/dec2023)** > > \Image of dinosaurs and a volcano with the text 'MakeCode Arcade Prehistoric Jam' ---

YES!!! I’m so excited!!! Isn’t this game jam shorter than the last one though? ---

Excited, hopefully, I can participate! Couple questions: I’m just wondering, but will there be a ranking as in previous game jams? Also, why is the time range smaller than in previous game jams? 🥲 I feel like they used to last for almost a month, this one is under two weeks! (I’m not complaining, time crunches can be fun!) ---

Yes, this one is SHORT! Mostly because it’s set-up to run as a CSEd Week Event (12/4-12/10) and most of the games will come from people who are participating in clubs and groups that week. We’re extending an extra week to allow for people who can’t participate during CSEd Week. ---

Omygosh… this post caught me by surprise! 😅 Uh… thank you! It’s really nice of you to say that! P.S. You are MUCH better at coding than you think. Everyone starts at 0, including me, and Mr. @Sarge, and o everyone else in the makecode forum! So don’t feel overwhelmed, okay? > **hehe** > > > [@makecodegamer](#): > > > > You are soo godlike to me > > Ah… no. I’m just some guy on the street lol. ---
