# Bedrock Edition no longer working with MakeCode? - Super disappointing!

I can sympathize with this being a though call for the team, since being able to code in the beloved vanilla Bedrock edition was quite unique and exciting compared to the more boring(not bad at all, just too nice and boring, IMO, like Luke Skywalker compared to Han Solo/Boba Fett, and the equally tiresome Skywalkerish subscription model) and educational MEE.
Sad, but true. Let’s move on!

You can still use code connection app with Windows 11 and Minecraft Bedrock 1.20 and higer. Im

1. You need to download Code Connection Fix app (it will allow to connect new minecraft version to code connection): [https://github.com/lrocher/CodeConnectFix/releases/download/v1.1.2/CodeConnectFix.exe](https://github.com/lrocher/CodeConnectFix/releases/download/v1.1.2/CodeConnectFix.exe)
2. Frist run Code Connection, then run code connection fix app.
3. And last, use the command provided in Code Connection Fix App (not in the Code Connection App!) to connect to code connection. And for me the programming evirioment that sitll work is MakeCode.

Welcome to the forum, @minecraft_dad!
A lot of people have bought Minecraft non-Education Edition believing programming was available, unfortunately. At least now its been officially announced that support is ended outside of the Education Edition.
Since @oliik2013 just signed up and has had only one post around the time official MakeCode support for Bedrock / CodeConnection was discontinued, maybe your should contact the developer directly at GitHub in the issues section?:

I managed to make it work!
Actually, it didn’t work at the start maybe because I didn’t get an installer type for the code connection app but an extracted version.
After using @Vegz78 guide and script, it worked after. Thank you so much.
I’m using MakeCode, it’s easy to get into but definitely has a deep and complex aspect to it.
Some observed bugs:
In the MakeCode window that comes from the Code Connection app, the tutorials are not clickable. Also, same with the projects so I need to create a new project each time.
It’s not a dealbreaker so and just happy it’s still doable.
