Dear Colleagues! ![😁](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/t4f/1/16/1f601.png)

Let me share my latest project with you: **[bit:plot](https://people.inf.elte.hu/gaalbence/bitplot/).**![📊](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/taa/1/16/1f4ca.png)

The micro:bit (or any other microcontroller) is excellent for carrying out science measurements, but its built-in data-visualisation tools are limited and don’t always allow the data to be displayed properly.

bit:plot was built to be a data-visualisation interface that puts no technical obstacle between measuring and analysing: it runs in the browser, you just plug the device in over USB and open a link, and the data starts drawing straight away. No installation, no sign-up, and no server behind it — your data stays on your own computer the whole time, nothing is uploaded to the internet. ![🔒](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/t2e/1/16/1f512.png)

What it can do so far:

![📈](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/t1/1/16/1f4c8.png) 13 chart types — line, bars, scatter, histogram, box plot, pie, 3D motion path, radar
![🔮](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/t80/1/16/1f52e.png) Prediction — curve fitting (linear, exponential, logistic) with forecasting
![🆚](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/td1/1/16/1f19a.png) Comparison — reload earlier measurements, several datasets on one chart
![📋](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/t2b/1/16/1f4cb.png) Table view — click a row and that exact moment is highlighted on the chart
![💾](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/tf/1/16/1f4be.png) Save to CSV and PNG — ready for the lab report
![🇬🇧](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/t96/1/16/1f1ec_1f1e7.png)- ![🇭🇺](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/t20/1/16/1f1ed_1f1fa.png)- ![🇩🇪](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/t16/1/16/1f1e9_1f1ea.png) English, Hungarian and German interface

If you don’t have a device at hand, you can download a ready-made measurement from the start page and try almost every feature with it. Live measuring needs Chrome or Edge; any browser will do for the analysis.

If you find it useful, there’s also an option on the start page to support the development, but it isn’t a condition for anything ![😁](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/t4f/1/16/1f601.png). The tool will stay free for as long as it’s available.

I tried Bit:plot on Chorme with V2 BBC Microbit and USB proven data cable (not just power). I paired my device. I clicked ‘connect’ and ‘start Measurement’ . Nothing appears on the screen. No lines or charting , no ‘data’. Has the author tried this on some computer other than his own ? With someone else’s Micro:bit ?

Hi Frank! I tried on my laptop as well! And its working currently for me. Could you share your code on your micro:bit?

Update: Tested with microbit V1 on different computer, everything is working!

Hello ? ? ? Could you please make a video to show what you are doing? I re-read you first post. I see nothing about coding. What data are you recording ? What Makecode sensor data are you using? “inputs?” Where is the data coming from ? Would you post a MakeCode URL link to your code in Makecode if that is what you are doing so I can click on it and then discover your data logging or charting. “the data starts drawing right away” …what/which data ? Thanks.

Check the Help please, I won’t able to make any video! On my screen I was measuring the x-y-z axes movement with the example code.

If you’re interested in doing some integration with the Data Logger Extension and wireless, you are welcome to leverage my libraries. I made them largely to support science applications, like visualizing the variation in temperature over a few days.

- This extension adds a block to MakeCode to allow bluetooth access to the data logger’s logs: [https://github.com/bsiever/pxt-blelog](https://github.com/bsiever/pxt-blelog)
- This JavaScript library can be used (from browsers with Web Bluetooth) to retrieve and stream the log’s data: [https://github.com/bsiever/microbit-webblelog](https://github.com/bsiever/microbit-webblelog)

A group of students made a GUI using it: [https://2024-ui-sp.github.io/Micro-bit-ble/](https://2024-ui-sp.github.io/Micro-bit-ble/) ([source](https://github.com/2024-UI-SP/Micro-bit-ble/))
