# Calling Date TypeScript

Hello

I am trying to call Date from Makecode Blocks Playground

let date: Date = new Date();  
console.log("Date = " + date);  
But it appear an Error  
Go to error: Line 12: Cannot find name ‘Date’.

You can’t get the date as the Makecode Blocks Playground doesn’t support getting a date. Probably because you can’t get the date on hardware either.
