# Can someone tell me what the Radio is and is it for online

Is the radio extension online if it is can you make my game online plz just 2 players online. If you can make it when player 2 is Spot and he looks like Toby.

The radio extension is for hardware devices to use radio modules.

Hmmm so is it possible to do multiplayer without any cable? WiReLeSs? Or maybe chatting or stuff!

You can’t use the radio extension for online multiplayer, but you can use it for local multiplayer (only with boards that support it).

Currently, the only board with radio is the micro:bit v2 and that board requires [a special shield that is not available yet](https://makecode.com/blog/microbit/arcade-shield).

In other words, no way to use the radio extension yet!

? But I used the radio stuff a few years ago with micro:bit v1??? We made a hide and seek thing and checked the signal strength to see how far the hider is…

The micro:bit v1 also has radio but it can’t run arcade. The new micro:bit has a much more powerful processor so it can run arcade (but you can’t right now unless a shield becomes available)
