# Change Brick name

Can anybody tell me how I can change the EV3 brickname, using Makecode? Thanks

You cannot change your brick name using Makecode. The way you change your name is through the big box thing with the screen and buttons. You scroll to the tab with the wrench on it (settings), and then you scroll down to brick name, and, once you’re hovering over the tab, you click the button in the centre, and it takes you to the name changer, where you will use the arrows and the centre button to rename your EV3. For example, I changed my brick name from “EV3” to “67”.

Maybe I could do this in a community fork, but I don’t see any point in doing so.
