# Chat function in Minecraft blocked by MS Account Settings

Hi,  
Hoping someone can help - I’ve just configured a new PC with two profiles for my Kids who are part of Family Group in Windows Live; I installed Makecode which connects through to Minecraft no problem, however after originally working (falling chickens!) when they now try to enter any other text into the chat bar I get the message: “You cannot chat with other players because of how your Microsoft Account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy and online safety settings on aka.ms/accountsettings”  
I’ve checked the setting in here and can’t see anything that would block chat - any ideas?

Did you have any luck fixing this? I have a similar issue.
