the egg, before you say “but the chicken had to lay it” no. an animal that wasnt a chicken persay but was related to it had the egg and the chicken came out of it

I was thinking along those lines too. You do mean evolution, right? Because since dinosaurs came before the chicken but are related to it, so evolution after the last catastrophic disaster that killed the dinosaurs caused evolution to be kinda forced because they needed to adapt to their new enviornmental needs.

Or the egg doesn’t have to exactly belong to the chicken, and so technically dinosaurs and othe reptiles laid eggs before chickens.
