- I made a board game IRL letting you create your own sword with separate blades and handles, and got the idea of making it a video game! I’ve been playing a LOT of Pokémon TCG Pocket recently and wanted my game to feel like that. Right now basically nothing has been made but if you have ideas for blades (and their damage) or handles (and their (not too crazy) effects), I might add them to the game! Here is the VERY Beta game: [https://arcade.makecode.com/S70201-94680-64506-58444](https://arcade.makecode.com/S70201-94680-64506-58444)

I’m working on a system that lets you choose wether or not you want to equip the card you pulled, as well as handles, potions and artifacts once that’s done. And can someone help me to make every single monster attack and not just one per “level”?

You can put them all in a list and then use a for “var” in "lost block to make them all attack. Like this:

For “monster” in “monsterList”:
call Attack (monster)
(adding a pause will make them go one by one, even in the function)

Also, I really like the cards and packs! I’m OBSESSED with opening card packs! (I’m a gambler)

And me too, I LOVE to gamble hehe

Question: How do I keep track of health for each monster? Right now they’re all insta-kill and I want the damage to actually do something. If that doesn’t work soon, I’m changing to turn-by-turn combat.

You can use the sprite data extension! Just asign a number to each monster and decrease it whenever you attack them. Or you could use status bars, which are also pretty simple. And lists are REALLY simple. Just make one and when you create the monsters, us this block to add them to the list:
 ![Screenshot 2026-07-14 192414](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex020/uploads/makecode/original/3X/a/a/aa48f9a74dccfabb756b4aefacefc9c681bac725.png)

Just drop the monster variable into the gray spot, and then you’ll be done! Unless you haven’t finished the for loop yet.

that’s one way, but you could also use the “sprite data” extension I think it was called.

Thanks everyone!

No amount of explaining will help me understand lists, but I will use your way, @VoxelMaster64!

An idea I have is that you make an invisible hit box that’s a bit bigger than the sword you don’t have to be exactly on top of the monster to attack them.

You could also use this extension which is dedicated to this scenario:

I had the absolutely GREAT idea to copy-paste the code from @VoxelMaster64 into my game, and as blocks cannot be copy-pasted into a different project (Please add that as a feature, whoever updates Makecode Arcade), I had to do it in Javascript. And I must’ve deleted an extra } or something, because the game is officially non-functional. And I didn’t have copies.

Should I start over?

there’s a version history under settings (after selecting something, wait 10 seconds then press recover project). Also don’t switch to Javascript or to blocks mid-project since there’s a chance it will break

I’m pretty sure you can copy blocks from different projects. I think the problem was that @VoxelMaster64 used some blocks from different extension that you didn’t have downloaded.
