# Custom music extension?

is there a extension that expands the song editor (not melody)  
beacuse in the developer docs i saw that you can do waveform stuff but i want it to be easier to make music and not have to type everything is there an extension to expand on the song editor or will there be?

We’ve got a petition going to add Mp3 files to Makecode [here](https://forum.makecode.com/t/add-the-option-to-import-audio-petition/26713), but there’s not really any extension in Makecode itself to make music editing any easier. You could probably try using a fan-made online converter, but I haven’t seen one as of yet. There may be one out there, though!
