# EV3 Device Manager fail

Anyone else having problems using the EV3 Device Manager web page used to update firmware?

I get this error about needing to download and install, and it’s already installed. This is on both my desktop and my laptop. I’ve run the installation again, run the installation in “Repair” mode, no fix.

I can’t run the executable from the command line:

I’m running Chrome version 78 on my desktop, and was running version 77 on my laptop which both failed. Upgraded the laptop to version 78 and it still fails.

The last time I ran the Device Manager successfully was probably last August.

Hi there. We just heard from LEGO - this should be fixed now. Please verify and let us know!

Hi Jacqueline,  
It’s fixed. I had to reinstall the Download Manager, but that’s sort of expected. Works on both my desktop and laptop.

the EV3 Device Manager service does not start for me. Installer is revision number {BD6D338F-8651-41D8-8C9D-A68507B90858}, OS is Windows 10 Home.

In the application event log, I find this event:
