I am attempting to make a platformer with “A” for jump, “B” for dash, as well as “Up arrow” for attacking and spikes. I don’t know what’s going on, but my attacks won’t spawn the correct way based on the direction my character is facing. And, on the spikes, the registration is incredibly laggy, but also keeps the character stuck in a loop of bouncing up( for the ouch effect). Help on this would be greatly appreciated! You could use the character extension and try that

Ok, it seems that there was a set VX to 0, I assumed that you wanted that to trigger when the player hit the floor after being knocked back, so I moved it into a “separately do” block with a “wait until” checking for when the player hits the wall. I also changed the “on game update” to use a different if condition; if the player was moving right, “facing right” should be set to true, otherwise, if the player was moving left “facing right”
should be set to false. This is so the direction the player was facing can be retained when the player stops moving. I also tweaked the attack sprite to flip horizontally when attacking left.

I would share a .png, but it doesn’t work.

Oh, thank you so much! I didn’t even know the first few blocks you used existed. Do you happen to still have the copy of the game you used to edit it?
