# How to flash MakeCode binary to SAMD21 board?

Hi, let’s say I do not want to use the UF2 drag and drop method, but I still want to use MakeCode Maker ([maker.makecode.com](http://maker.makecode.com)) to create code.

After creating a simple “Blinky” using MakeCode Maker and downloading the .uf2 file to my computer, I converted it to a .bin file using uf2conv.py. Then, I flashed the .bin to my SAMD21 board using Atmel Studio 7 and a J-Link Edu. However, the code doesn’t run (no blinking LED).

What went wrong, and what should I have done instead? Many thanks!
