# Icons in the blocks?

Is there a way to pop an icon in a block on the left hand side? I am creating a series of shapes ([https://makecode.buildbee.com](https://makecode.buildbee.com)) - would be neat to add shape outlines to my blocks.

Unfortunately we don’t support this at the moment. It’s not an ideal workaround, but you might be able to find Unicode characters/emojis that approximate the icons you want?

We supported them at one time (many years ago) but we decided that it made the blocks look too cluttered
