# Lego ev3 with makecode

Our school just got new Dell Chrome 3100 2in1 Chromebooks. Makecode Lego Mindstorms has always worked great with all of our older Chromebooks. I am using a usb cable to hook up the chromebook to the brick. The problem is that when I drag the uf2 file to the Ev3 I now get “Copy operation failed. This file could not be modified.” and I am unable to get the file to transfer to the brick. Using latest Chrome OS.

Hello. I am having the same issue. I would like to use MakeCode but unless I find the solution I will have to use something else. Let me know what you find out please. Thank you.

I would like to help you and change the editor code, but I do not have access to such a system. If anyone has it, they can join and become a contributor to the pxt-ev3 fork.
