I know there’s a ton of things out there today to convert png images into MakeCode Arcade assets. I wanted to throw my hat into the ring as well (and add more features to my site).

What I focused on was the custom palette. Others I found didn’t seem to handle this very well or give me options that I was looking for. So I rolled my own and included it in the “hub” I’m trying to expand on: [MakeCode.games](https://makecode.games)

For this image converter you have 3 options:

1. Default palette
2. Custom palette using the array of color hexes (see video to get these)
3. Top line of pixels in your image

The top line of pixels allows you to simply put the colors you have in your palette as the first 16 colors of the first row of the image.
The option I use most is the color hexes and this has worked quite well to import larger images I like to create using tools like Aseprite or Photoshop.

Have fun! And yes I’m growing the extension library, I’m attempting to automate it just as easily as I have the games automated.

This website continues to grow! I love how expansive it is beginning to become. Can’t wait to see more!
