Stop putting (sentence) please. People only do that when their post is all caps or less than five characters. Discourse won’t allow these messages so people put the sentence thing. It’s not a meme or anything

Uh I code without extensions. That’s it. I don’t use extensions that much because it feels like a shortcut. SOMETIMES it doesn’t like something is literally impossible without the extension. Btw, is MIDI an extension? I’ve never used it before or seen it. I just heard of it.

When you think about it, they are very similar yet very different! Both are a way to shorten a huge amount of code to be easily used or called for! It is possible to replicate the other with the one. I’d say they both have Pros and Cons. While functions are very versatile, providing a vast set of function options, Extensions allow multiple external connections that provide varied functions through simple blocks!

When I mean this, it’s a choice, not that I actually DO any complicated stuff.
(I’m probably gonna struggle remaking Wrecking Crew by my knowledge…)

Yeah, but Functions are just a few blocks. The thing is, extensions often take a huge amount of JS script that are then converted into blocks for people like us to understand and utilize more effectively. It’s just like Functions! Functions are a built in property, while Extensions are an effective add-on with more complex Functions!

Lantern, sprite util, better arrays and settings, timers, sprite data, extra effects, character animations, shader and all the rest are extremely complex and took a lot of work and effort.
I coded my own shader for the mini game jam on boss rushes and it was complicated, huge and still very inefficient.
All this just to replicate the lantern effect, even then it’s still a worse copy of it
Try recreating any extension, maybe the Arcade-mini-menu extension
