# Presenting: BAFTA YGD Idea Generator for MakeCode Arcade

I’ve ported Michael Warburton’s Game Designers Idea Generator to MakeCode Arcade. The original was developed for the [BAFTA Young Games Designers](http://ygd.bafta.org/) initiative. It’s a useful tool to encourage thinking about a wide range of different types of games - it’s easy to fall into the trap of just thinking about recently played games.

The code can be easily modified to add your own lists or to localise the language.

You’re welcome to add it. If you can include a link in there to the [BAFTA Young Game Designers](http://ygd.bafta.org/) web site too, I’m sure they’d appreciate that.

It works on hardware too, I ran it on a Kittenbot Meowbit.

The code is all in Blocks and would be smaller if return values were available in functions. I raised this subject previously in [Functions with a return value in Blocks](https://forum.makecode.com/t/functions-with-a-return-value-in-blocks/534). I’d imagine this has been discussed somewhere before, is there a reason to not offer return value(s)?
