oh no! the storybook that the hoplings originally lived in was torn apart, and the pages were spread across a new land! follow ryan as he runs, jumps, sprints and ground pounds his way through this new world, collecting any pages he can find!
changelog:
ENEMIES! there’s only one type; the slugslime, but ENEMIES!
updated HUD.
a new gimmick, and with it comes a new level.
pulse orbs
the pulse orbs are blue and orange orbs with upward facing arrows on them. these pulse orbs are activated by pressing jump on top of them, or holding jump and running into them. the orange ones are twice as powerful as the blue ones, but their cooldown is twice as long.
pages don’t give points anymore, but there’s a counter in the HUD that displays how many out of three you’ve collected.
(KEEP IN MIND: this is just a demo, everything you see is most likely subject to change.)

i take all of these comments to heart and build my game off of them, and to have someone way more popular than i am call it the best platformer on the forum is wild. i can’t thank you enough
made one small but noticeable change; ryan’s life counter now reacts to him doing things like getting hurt or getting a page. small change, but it makes a difference and adds just a bit more personality to ryan himself.
Um @Brainstorm_studios I was wondering how you made the enemys stay on platformers without Flying off of. Please tell me how beacause I really need it im trying to make a platformer but the enemys keep flying off of their platforms
well, you know how there are those overhanging tiles at the end of the platforms? well, i made it so there’s an invisible sprite that spawns on top of each of them that turns the slugslimes around if they overlap it. i tried using one of the other methods i saw but that didn’t work, so i improvised and it worked flawlessly!
