# Reviving EV3 for intro to electricity; are there any options other than OFDL for battery state?

Using some old EV3s in 'bots for an intro to electricity session. One key task: reading battery voltage, preferably with current, too. The [OFDL tools](https://ofdl.tw/en/ev3-hacking/ev3-battery-view-tool/) worked years ago, but not on V1.10E. Does anyone have any alternatives to this EV3 Battery View tool?

Hello, I’ve only tried this in the simulator but it’s at least available on the site. [https://github.com/microsoft/pxt-ev3/blob/master/libs/core/battery.ts#L34](https://github.com/microsoft/pxt-ev3/blob/master/libs/core/battery.ts#L34)  
Search for battery and then in the drop down there is current and voltage in addition to level.
