@richard, could you please work on fixing this bug with the rest of the Makecode team if there is one? I think there is but I’m not sure.

This is MyCraft, a game I’ve been perfecting for years. But sometimes when I pull it up, each tile in every last segment of code becomes a blank! While I love Makecode, this really aggravates me and the only way I can fix it is by reverting to an older version in version history. However, I don’t know if something I added recently before opening it up with the glitch is deleted because of that and it really worries me. Please fix this!!!

Has anyone else had this issue? Please comment so we can figure out how widespread it is

This is a very common result of data corruption in makecode. There is a lot of things that cause it. The most common reason has to do with assets getting corrupted from duplicating them without naming them. It is also somtimes caused by faulty extensions. (I don’t immediately see any in your project screenshot)

You can get an old version of a project back by clicking the settings gear in the top right on the orange bar. Select version history and restore to a non-corrupted version.

This glitch has been around for as long as I’ve used makecode. (4+ years) So I don’t think its simple for makecode to fix, but I remain hopeful!

Here is a post I made about avoiding future duplication-corruption:

> This can happen sometimes when you “duplicate” images or tilemaps. (Like if you drag an image out of sorting else) This copying of data can sometimes lead to glitches like this in the editor. Things you can do: 1.Name all of your assets 2.Delete unused assets or duplicates of assets. Replace these duplicates with one central named version. 3.Don’t “duplicate” as frequently. Especially with tilemaps or longer animations. Instead you can go into an asset and use the box selector tool to select …
