# Score changes by 7...not 1

Student can’t seem to make it that the score changes by 1 (which is what he has in the block). Instead, it changes by 7. I can’t seem to find the issue either. Thanks. [https://makecode.com/\_8mAbRhDok5xp](https://makecode.com/_8mAbRhDok5xp)

Hello @BruceSchwa!

The the score is going up so much because the projectile is colliding with the target block multiple times. This happens because the projectile block needs to be destroyed in the `on sprite of kind Projectile overlaps at location` block like so:

I’d also recommending adding the `set Projectile auto destroy ON` found in the _Sprites_ category of the toolbox in the `on A button pressed` block since you still want the projectile sprite to be destroyed when it is no longer on screen. While fine now, too many projectiles will eventually slow down the system.
