# Simulator not updating automatically

Sometimes, when I have added some things to a project, the simulator stops updating automatically with my new code. I’ve found that if I click on Javascript or Python and then on Blocks, that seems to trigger an update. Is this something I am causing? Is there a way to turn on or off the automatic updates\>

It’s just editor lag, it’s unintentional. The easiest and quickest way to mitigate it is to press the button to collapse the edittor and then reopen it, which will refresh it.

Disconnecting and reconnecting the on start blocks also works

Regarding this last question, the opposite of the first about not updating and answered by others above, is the right answer here to stop the simulator with the stop button?
