Well, the forums have stayed relatively the same since they “died.” But we don’t have the regulars porting a lot, so that “normal” is more boring than it used to be. This is partially due to the development of big projects like pixel smash moving to other platforms. I think the fact that anyone can comment on anything and that messaging isn’t instant means that people doing serious game development are not able to do things very effectively. There isn’t really anything that can be done though, as the forums’ whole point is to be safe. But this means that the only things that really get posted are help topics from new people, demos, or full versions of games.
So that’s why I think the forums are “dying.”
I still do think that a separate chat category only accessible by dedicated members that had been active on the forum contributing for a while should be a thing though, and would fix a lot of the issues that the forum is experiencing at the moment though.

I have an idea that could save the forums we need people to take the role of like the griffpatch, ggenjie, and the chipm0nks and make youtube channels about the makecode forums. we need people to make devlogs, makecode toturials, and makecode videos to raise awareness about the forums and inspire more people to join

I was thinking of becoming the makecode version of ggenjie but I decided not to because I can’t stand how cringey my voice sounds when recorded.
Once upon a time I made scratch tutorials on youtube but lets not get into that lol

Getting more people to join is not going to save the forums. Off-topic discussions, roleplay, etc will just worsen the situation. We’re here to socialise and showcase our games, not talk about skibidi toilet.
However, this is just what I think, so take it with a grain of salt.
who cares about what I think anyways 🤷
