When you name an asset a name that already exists, it shouldn’t cover up the name editing window with the error.

Would be dope to have a much larger default library of assets. There’s probably extensions which add more assets but it would be nice to have them included in the base version.

If I wanted Makecode to add something new, it would probably be making it so that we can have infinitely as many colors we wanted. Though, Makecode would probably have to actually edit their whole system!

is there a workaround to reset the image every rotation?

More variable blocks, such as:

Array of all variables: Returns array
Name of variable (variable): returns string

and of course you being able to put stuff in the variable name slot

What do you mean?

One idea I had is that, if you knew you only needed certain rotations for a sprite, such as only every 20 degrees, you could make an image array of all the rotations at the start.
An important thing in programming is knowing when to sacrifice memory for compute or vice versa. With this approach we sacrifice some memory (depends on the size of the sprite) in favor of compute time. (Initial load time is also something we are sacrificing!)
Maybe when I get back in two weeks I’ll try making some of the nicer rotation algorithms. Though they have probably been done before it could be a fun exercise.

This is actually a big one for me and one of my main problems with the web editor:

When using javascript, everytime you go into the data simulator or assets and go back it resets the code editor all the way to the top of the page (from line 1). If you have a lot of lines its very tedious to have to go back to what you were doing.

It would be great if it didnt reset the editor when you exit the assets menu or data simulator.

do you mean get back to the exact line you were at? Just remember the line and scroll down.

The tab not being 1.2 GB everytime I go into the editor ;-;

I swear I’ve been having my PC overrun and I haven’t seen a forum post about it so I guess I’ll bring it up but it might be a laptop problem or something idk 🤷‍♂️

Exactly yeah. It’s just a bit tedious having to scroll down every time, especially when your main.ts is hundreds of lines long.

</div>

Thanks. I did some research and its actually ctrl+g. And then you just type the line number and it sends you there. I’ll defo keep this in mind for the future (would still be even better if it wouldnt reset tho).

I guess you could also use ctrl+f if you don’t remember the line number but yeah like I said it would be better if you didn’t have to do that every time.

Code in makecode arcade gets ran through javascript’s eval function, and the code for an empty project is 1.8 MB. It’s a crazy amount.
