# Video: first time we have tried a generic Mbit app for Microbit: it works !

This shows our first attempt, successful, with cell phone blue tooth control of a Microbit which is using edge connector/pins extension. No powered breakout boards are used. This allows us to control the Microbit with a generic cell phone app. Here we blink lights by tapping cell touch screen. Code for this is in the description of the video.
