This will probably surprise nobody, but growing up I basically spent every waking minute reading books. Fantasy/Science Fiction are my favorite genres, particularly of the British variety. I have always been extremely partial to the works of [Diana Wynne Jones](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diana_Wynne_Jones), especially the Chrestomanci series. ---

I was kinda disappointed that Hogwarts wasn’t real lol BTW I get Ravenclaw a lot when I do quizzes but my personality online is pretty Hufflepuff, and it’s usually a close second, so makes perfect sense! I feel like if I do take a quiz again (haven’t in a while) I would have a higher percentage Hufflepuff then before… in fact, I’ll do it now! ---

I love reading!! 90% of what I read is fantasy/dystopian stuff. I don’t usually re-read books though, so many of the series’ I’ve read have become one continuous story in my head and I think that’s fine. There have been some good mentions here: Eragon, Divergent, Wings of Fire (wings of fire is so much darker than it appears to be at first, mostly because of the cold blooded murder, definitely a must read!). I also have some more to add for those that are making a list: My Side Of The Mountain, Harris and Me, Hatchet (and many other books by Gary Paulsen!), the whole Chronologicals of Narnia, Because I’ll Never Meet You, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, and Dragon Riders. Some of these are dark, some are for a younger audience, but they are all good according to me. I also like graphic novels, but I haven’t made a massive Notes table of the graphic novels I’ve read, so, just from memory, Hidden Witch and Amulet are really good. The last (9th) book of Amulet just came out and it’s pretty good so that’s nice. ---

I used to LOVE those books! The fourth was my absolute favorite in elementary school. For some reason I always am told both hufflepuff and ravenclaw, so hopefully your prediction is the correct one, coming from a very dedicated reader! ---

I only watched one of the Beasts movies and, even after reading every book (and that one play about Harry’s son (yes I Read a play (yes I did use multiple parentheses inside other parentheses. This is a place full of coders, they will understand))) I have to agree. Not because of the author’s… controversies, just because the books are basically the same story arc every book. It seems that Harry forgets about the power of friendship at the beginning of every book, and then remembers it by the end of every book. I actually liked the play better, honestly. Oh wow, that is a wall of text. Definitely not to attack those that like Harry Potter though. I definitely enjoyed it when I read the whole thing in one summer in middle school!!! It’s just not really something I would recommend now, is all. 🙂 ---

I read the _Silmarillion_ in high school, which is a prequel to the LOTR trilogy. I really enjoyed the story (knowing little of the LOTR at the time), but I remember it being wickedly dense. I really enjoyed reading Arthur Conan Doyle’s _Sherlock Holmes_ works, and I’ve read some of the more contemporary books that were written long afterward, like those from Nicholas Meyer. (The theatrical version of _The Seven-Per-Cent Solution_ might be my favorite Sherlock Holmes movie ever.) I also really enjoy works by one of Conan Doyle’s contemporaries, Agatha Christie. The recent Hercule Poirot movies by Ken Branaugh have been splendid adaptations. Philip Pullman’s _His Dark Materials_ series was excellent. Most recently, I’ve read Brent Weeks’s series _Lightbringer_ and _Night Angel_. They’re _super_ long books, but they were amazing! Looks like he’s started a new series that I need to get into!
