Hello everyone!! The Summer Olympics start this week, and I am very excited. The Olympics are a really cool event because it’s a time where, while there’s a lot of competition, the world seems a little more unified. So, in this weekly topic, we want to talk about all things Summer Olympics.
Do you have a favorite event that you like to watch? Maybe there’s a specific athlete that you’re excited to see compete? Do you have any traditions or good memories around watching the Olympics? indoor volleyball!
i am not a sports person (shocking i know), but it is wild to me that indoor volleyball is not a more popular sport. it’s got the teamwork of basketball and the tense back and forth of tennis matches; super engaging!

I love the gymnastics events. It’s so cool to watch people literally fly and do it with their own strength. I find it super empowering. 🤸

It comes to no surprise when you realize I’m from NewHampshire but the mountain biking is what I live for.
In the winter however I love curling. I know. It seems like I’m Canadian.

I try to have the Olympics and Paralympics on in the background for the duration of the event. There are _so_ many incredible events! Among my favorites of the summer games:
- Opening and closing ceremonies
- Gymnastics
- Swimming and diving
- Football (we say _soccer_ for some reason in the U.S.)
- Wrestling
- Rowing
I can’t believe that break dancing is making its debut this year! I’m hoping it’s entertaining.

Also, quick tip on how to avoid having to put (sentence):

But tags are invisible ofc and we can take advantage of that and add a void tag that really isnt a tag, theoretically. But since Discourse invisibilised(not a word) it, we could use it!
