# What's with the read only stuff?

so, the forums went read only for a couple of hours a few days ago, and i wanted to know what the deal was. why did it happen? is it a regular ocurrence?

No, It has never happened before in my experience on this site. However, It didn’t seem to have any effect (at least on my end)

yeah thats what I’m sayin! weirdly enough the time when I started to that sort of stuff some older users randomly left with out warning and there was a gradual shift from people posting big collabs and video games to a bunch of new people appearing talking about something random I only read because I hate doing my school work

The same thing happened to me a couple days ago as well, I already filed a github issue but I think it is probably just a side effect from when they update the forum.
