# Why are people saying that makecode is a knockoff of scratch

I keep seeing videos like “I tried Microsofts $1.2 billion dollar scratch ripoff” and “the biggest scratch ripoff” its getting annoying at this point why can’t people see that just because makecode and scratch are both coding platforms they aren’t ripoffs of each other while makecode is obviously better I still respect scratch.

Well it obviously gets more clicks because scratch is a wayyy bigger platform. I think you are getting too pulled into the clickbait. Videos that make people mad are watched more! You can just ignore these channels or find the “don’t recommend me this channel” option.

proably because scratch was around 2007 so like 2 years older than minecraft so more famous and more known but in my opinion I like make code more because kinda in some ways more easy more blocks looks better I think more money is better in my opinion but because one is older more known and make code just comes out I guuess you could say make code is just a upgraded version of scatch
