It depends

Beginner coder: 1 Idea.
Intermediate coder: 2 ideas. Maybe 3.
Good coder: 3-4 ideas.
Expert coder: 4-5! But no more than 6.

@BLADEr

WHAT IS THE NAME/URL FOR YOUR EXTENSION & HOW DID YOU USE THE REAL COMPUTER MOUSE INSTEAD OF PUTTING A SPRITE ON THE COMPUTER MOUSE VIA BROWSER EVENTS!?

I want to create a game that everyone will love, because as you know, I love making games with creatures in them! @miguelsanto17598-gli, you should also submit a game with procedural animation!

Here are my ideas:

Salta Ranita: a game where you play a little frog jumping around a little Mexican village! haven’t touched it in a while, and think if I worked on it harder it would be a great fit!

Detective Beetle: a game where you play a beetle on the hunt for a criminal who lives in worm town! As you may know, I started this game topic a while ago but didn’t develop any story whatsoever. I think it would match the theme pretty well.

Shrew’s a Crowd: a game where you play a mommy shrew looking for her lost babies. This is a game I started making for this Jam! I’ve always wanted to make a game featuring shrews, and this could be it!

The War of Irene: a game where you play a Sugar Glider trying to find her identity as she travels from one region to the next as a pet/messenger of the Forest King and Queen.
There’s four regions with their respective creatures: Forest (mammals, birds, etc.), Fey Wild (fairies, redcaps, etc.), Construct (beetles, constructs), and Undead (nonidentifiable). Each region portrays a different type of life.
In the game the Constructs turn against practically everyone and start destroying the other regions to expand their own. Irene is the Construct King’s daughter.
I haven’t programmed any part of this game whatsoever. I would love the forum’s help!

So here’s a poll! I want to know which of these games you would like to see me work on!

  • Salta Ranita
  • Detective Beetle
  • Shrew’s a Crowd
  • The War of Irene

Also, @OriginalUsername, that looks like a very cool game! It makes me happy to see my extension is being used in very unique ways! As for the legs, you could just use simple sprite that changes animation based on the direction of movement. You should just save yourself and the processor time and not use procedural animation for the legs. If you would like a better discription, I can make a prototype for you!

Thank you!

@richard Is it strictly limited to 160x120 or can I make it bigger? Maybe like around 265x224?

If you look closely there is a sprite, just one that’s colored the same as most of the background tiles

Also, you can just make the sprite that follows the mouse invisible and it’ll work the same.

Thank you so much for the advice!! C:
I was actually gonna go down a whole rabbit hole of simulating procedural, 2 pixel long legs, for EVERY PIGEON IN THE GAME… T_T

I have 0.5 ideas but I’m not a beginner, I’m just not good at imagining.

You can find most of my procedural animation extension on my Procedural Animation Dev Page!

As with the mouse, it looks like @OriginalUsername is just using the “cursor position on move.” You don’t necessarily need a sprite to find a position!
