Like with @Brainstorm_Studios, my animation code has disappeared! WTH!
I don’t understand why this happened. I tried to recover it but didn’t work, so I won’t be able to complete the animation.
(Yeah I created the animation after I logged in)
I just want to notify the Makecode Team to solve this.
Thanks…
I know you don’t need anyone to rub the salt in any further, losing your stuff is tough, but please make frequent backups when working on something, especially when it’s a big asset or animation in question.
Yes, arcade is unstable, but the makecode team is small and expecting all issues to immediately go away is just unreasonable. Instead, we have to work with what we have, and that involves making backups to avoid makecode’s buggy behaviour. One suggestion I have is to use GitHub, as it makes it very easy to backup, and resore to a working version at any time.
Very sorry this happened @BlueYoshi507. Can you tell us what you were doing when the data loss occurred?
every time I am about to exit the editor I’ve always clicked the camera button to quickly save a backup to my computer. My assets were actually deleted multiple times when I was making my gamejam game, but I had backups so nothing was lost.
I found a similar error when I was testing changing the colors of the game in a pxt.json file. I messed up the code and it removed the assets. I would look at that and see if anything like that may be the cause.
Well, I was changing my screen resolution, but when I tried to switch from JavaScript to Blocks there was a message that said “The program is too large”. And then, well, when I reloaded the project my code disappeared
