Chase the Pizza: But Oversimplified (My New Game)

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share one of my early MakeCode Arcade projects. It’s inspired by the Chase the Pizza tutorial, but I expanded it with many additional features while learning JavaScript and experimenting with more advanced programming concepts.

This project upgrades the regular Chase the Pizza tutorial game and adds way more features such as:

  • Achievements
  • Time and time zones
  • Dates
  • Key rebinding
  • Jukebox
  • Stats, control guide, credits
  • Pizza Gallery (to see which pizzas you’ve collected)
  • Multiple pizza types
  • Powerup shop (RPG style)
  • Quests
  • Settings
  • Save files
  • And more!

This is currently almost done (just have to fix the quest and add all music in the game) and will be getting updated.

I’d love to hear any feedback or suggestions for improvements. Thanks for checking it out!

Hi guys! I just found a problem where for some reason the game breaks when you try to open the controller menu. ): I’m trying to figure out what’s causing the bug right now, until then, you can’t rebind the keys.

Features I’m trying to add:

  • Tutorial
  • More abilities
  • Fixing the quest system
  • Creating multiplayer systems
  • Adding more achievements (1k, 5k, 10k, 100k, 500k 1m, pizzas collected [for @kirbob ])
  • Creating the sound menu
  • Creating a pause menu during game to go back to the menu
  • Finishing the secret easter eggs, and the extra menu

Chase the pizza is a makecode arcade tutorial game that is just to collect as many pizzas as possible in a specified time.

Well, I learned to code with blocks with different sources and also Makecode YT tutorials, but not the actual tutorials put on Makecode Arcade.
