So…as you all may have noticed, actual development on this game has been pretty quiet. That’s because, after a while of thinking, and LOTS of testing:
Coneguy 64 is officially becoming a Game Maker 2 (GM2) game/Pizza Tower mod.
Makecode is an absolutely beautiful platform. Throughout my 1 year and 7 months of being here, I have seen great games, and many great people. I cannot thank you all enough for your support throughout the conceptualization and development of this project.
However, sometimes when you get really passionate about making a game, you start adding content that won’t actually fit, or takes up too much space, eventually getting to the point where you can’t even make a normal share link for the project because the website deems your project as “too big.” Unfortunately for me, the current build of Coneguy 64 is now in this state, which is why I am going to attempt to switch coding languages.
Additionally, I plan on becoming a computer programmer later in life, and I feel as if switching coding languages can help prepare me for this.
Despite all of this:
This does NOT mean the Makecode Coneguy 64 is dead. One last demo is in the works, featuring the co-op mode I have always wanted to include in the game. You can have this screenshot while you wait.
“B-but Coneguy!!,” you may be saying. "I don’t want you to make it into just a Pizza Tower mod, because then it would lose all its charm and originality!!
Thankfully, you’re in luck. This version of the game will feature brand new levels, transformations, and exploration-based gameplay along the likes of the project’s original intended gameplay!
Anyways, thank you for reading, thank you all for supporting me, and as @goldtopaz once said…
Keep on those water hats!!
