Yo could you make some music for a pirate game I’m working on? Just in case it helps the setting is a rocky archipelago in the rain. I would be very happy If you could make some songs for it.

It’s okay if you cant because you got a lot of projects to do

Wow! This is amazing! I probably can’t use it for the desert area because it’s very intense. Nonetheless, great job. Will find a spot for it!

Oh, yeah, forgot about that. You could put it in the Eye of Horus boss, maybe…? idk

Idrk, I just kind of use my MIDI controller to make a basic melody and bass, then add whatever I think of when I listen to it.

Oh also, it’s perfectly fine if you want me to remake it again! that’s how making music for other games usually works; composers have to remake it a couple times until the dev feels like it’s right, so don’t feel bad if you want me to redo it! Also, it would be helpful to get specific feedback about exactly what you didn’t like about it so I can get closer next time.

Thanks! (Still new to this) Here are my thoughts:

I enjoyed the new cord progressions in this song but it was very hyper/stressful for the desert. The desert, where the midnight theme will be played, is the starting area of the game. I intend for the desert to be intriguing and ominous, chilled by the soft wisper of the wind. Your song is better fit to accompany a battle rather than the beginning of the game.

I always enjoyed the slow tension of this part in your original midnight theme:

I actually added it to the background of some of the other songs that you made. It’s become something of a motif for the areas of the game where there is no immediate threat, where exploring is the main goal. This section’s cold tension was notably replaced with franticness in your new rendition. Maybe lower the tempo a bit?

I should also mention that the new version of this game will be a metroidvannia/open world, not a linear platformer. I don’t have any big tilemaps yet, but I have planned out the map of the world.

Thanks! I noticed you said this:

If you want I can add some background sounds that sounds a bit like wind; it would definitely improve the feel of the song.

Sure! Try it out!

I made another song for the desert; if You find anything you don’t like about it, please let me know as you did before!

This works much better for the desert (Need to think of cooler name) Much more tension. The percussion sounds like dry sand crunching underfoot which is perfect.

If you are still up for it, I have a new boss which needs some music.

New Boss Description

Khonsu has been replaced by a giant sand worm as the first boss of the game, I’ll still add Khonsu later, but I wanted an easier fight first. The design is heavily inspired by the worms from dune: Sharp Teeth, rough skin. The worm resides in an extra sandy area of the desert and displays its impressive size and strength by causing tremors that create falling rock projectiles. It hides in the sand waiting to strike its prey. Most of the worms’s body submerged in the sand, so there is no telling of its true length.

The worm’s song should invoke some panic because the worm strikes unexpectedly from underground. Though, the boss fight is easy so don’t go all out.

Could you also provide the midi files in case I want to make my own tweaks later?

Just noticed we have the same cake day, awesome.

This is my favorite music you have made yet! Really great. You know that really long descending pitch that starts at 1:50 right before the awesome beat drop? It’s a little annoying for how long it goes for, but i think that is also good at building tension. Still, to make it less glaring could you make it into a descending arpeggio?

As for the midi files, I would like to have those. Could you make a google drive folder for each song and put the tracks in like this:

Yeah, I’ll do that, but because it is my music, if you could send them back to me when done so I can make sure I’m okay with them, that would be great!
