GravityCube V2 Sneak peeks

Hello

Happy New year and Merry Christmas to all of you. Why have I been gone so long? Well, now it’s going to sound like another excuse, but now my parents very rarely let me sit at the computer (and make games, too) so I have to program on my phone, which is not very convenient

But that doesn’t stop me from making games further, even though it will take more time now, even though I don’t have it anyway. Judging by the survey, many (2 people) want the return of GravityCube. To be honest, I’ve been wanting to update it myself for a long time, especially since many people praised this game. But after two days of active work, I got bored and abandoned the project. Developing games for MakeCode Arcade for me has long been not “A fun activity that I do after school and on weekends.” Moreover, when your post is viewed by a maximum of 4-8 people, there is a feeling that I am doing games in vain. Now that I have motivation and some free time, I can continue developing this game, even though I won’t be able to do it as fast as I did then. As for my previous projects, half of them will either be frozen or cancelled. Since it’s a waste of time for me to create games for the sake of two likes.

Now for the GravityCube innovations

Unlike in previous versions, I will not only fix bugs, but also add a lot of cool effects, which will be much more than in previous versions (perhaps even so much that I will have to add the “less visual effects” setting), I will improve some levels, and also make the boss battle more epic and interesting. And I’ll finally add sound effects (as I promised) while I’m working on the visuals, then I’ll start with the sound effects. See you!

We’re a small community, and this forum especially is mostly populated by people looking for help on their games, not to play others. I suggest posting your games both here and outside the forum, like on YouTube! (Or to just create games for yourself, but I know that gets boring after a while  )
THe game’s looking really cool so far!

GravityCube WIP post 2

I’m done with visual effects (most likely). Now I’m making sound effects and a new menu. In addition to 20 levels, the game will have at least 10 additional, larger and more complex ones.
Also there will be “Choose level” option instead of “Continue Game”
A new element will be added - a blue ball with a very cool animation that will be, if not in regular levels, then in additional ones

Some screenshots for you

GravityCube WIP Post 3

The visual effects are finished, that’s for sure. I’m working on sound effects, testers say the sounds are good, but they need to be improved (tbh, I think so too) After the sound effects, I’ll try to update the visuals a little and start the most difficult part - creating levels

So far, only 3 levels are ready, and they still need to be improved, since right now they don’t look very good. In parallel with this, we also need to eliminate bugs, of which there are quite a few after adding a new game element

If you want, you can send your levels to this post and they will be in the game. BUT they may need to be improved

To make your own level, open this game in the editor and make a level using game elements. The level itself can also be tested before sending.

Requirements:

  1. The level must be at least 25x25 blocks.
  2. Put at least 5 yellow orbs
  3. you can set a cube spawn with a gravitation thing or without

There will be no screenshots this time, the build I leaked level editor will compensate for them lol

Fun Fact: his name is Gravi
