Before I start. I’m sorry. I truly am sorry. I’m disapointed in myself.
But I’ve said it too many times at this point…
“The Jumpy Platformer thing is ALMOST done!”
…I’m gonna be honest. It never was.
I was only working on it in 1-2 week spans across months and months. My vision for the game was constantly changing each time I came back to the project. I had too many ideas that I didn’t have the effort or knowledge to put in the game! I was never really that passionate about it either! I mean I was a little bit, but not enough to ever see it through. One of the biggest reasons was just because my original Jumpy Platformer topics was kinda popular!
Working on this game has just become, a burden.
So I give up. You can have it. All of it!
I’ve linked every version of the game I’ve worked on below.
Look, I know there is gonna be some people who wanna save this project. If so you can go right ahead with this stuff but I’m not helping with anymore then a rough outline. Just in case, I’ll leave a poll to see who’s interested. If enough people are, I do have some ideas for how you could stich together these 3 builds into something roughly worthy of the title “Jumpy Platformer Full Game Release”. That was the dream. But I don’t have the motives to do it all by myself anymore.
Can I take over Jumpy Platform. I will give you credit in my versions. I actually LOVED the HD Unfinished version, with alot more levels than the OG Jumpy Platfromer?
To everyone who wants to save this… Here are my ideas for what you could do. But after this your on your own…
Your gonna want to probably keep HD v.5 as the base and import other assets from the other versions. The version I linked of DD needs some tinkering though…
Story
Use the story from DD linked by British Dog And from DDJPF. There was a big blob who was split up for reasons you’ll find out later, its your job to collect essence from each blob by stomping on them, talking to them, or doing their side quests. Then, the great blob will be whole again. Dan is the one who tells you this. Perhaps Dan might betray you or steal the essence for himself in a final boss? Or punish you if you fail? Its up to you guys… my idea was that Dan is basically the Flowey equivilent if you know what I mean.
Mechanics
If you didn’t know, NaN is a secret NPC character. He gives you the slAsh, which is basically the sword from hollow night, that instead of having to do side quests to get essence from enemies, you can just slAsh them, which makes things way easier. It leads to a different ending though. Where the great blob doesn’t like you that much. Keep the upgrades, and Guide’s outposts at the end of each area. They are key to the paseing and story progression. Also, Guide is always nice. Always.
Music
That’s up too you!! Do whatever!!!
Tilemaps
You could probably use a lot of the tilemaps from the files or other builds. Keep in mind that each world needs to have its own style and will need polishing as well. Example: the Caves, Grasslands, and Tutorial area teach you the basics of platforming, while the dessert of doom, and the ocean encourage exploration.

@Air perfection! I think make a NaN boss fight for the Fun route (Basically genocide), that’s what I’m working on right now with the plot. you could probably base it off the ERam boss from Deltarune, but in a platformer style. also NaN is just a black empty sprite
@game_bird cool! we don’t need any new tilemaps right now, for now update the ones Danny has left for us to use in the files! basically put the levels in order and add the outposts from there i’ll do the decorating
@beveragebanditdevs, you can make the music for the levels once they have been finished
can someone compile all the assets from DDJPF and put them in HD? the assets though not the code. and we don’t need player eenemy assets as well. we only need the Dan sprites from DD though.
right now we need music for grasslands, dessert of doom, jungle ruins, Guide’s theme, & Dan’s theme. if one person has already posted their track for one that will be the one that sticks. or whatever the better track is. you can heart if your good with that plan
ok @moopmakers and @Ed5idk we need to brainstorm/flesh out the main premise. along with lore. here’s my ideas.
So a long time ago there was the great blob. But he was the last of his kind so he split up to give life to more blobs. Including Dan. But Dan is the smartest blob. He tells you at the start when you arrive in Blob world that you can help him collect all the blobs essence, by stomping on bad ones or talking to nice ones, so he can bring back the great blob. If you agree to do this though in neutral route, he ends up stealing all the essence for himself to make himself the final boss. He wants to do this because before the player showed up he had the most control. he was the one who got to have all the fun. But then when you showed Dan was no longer the main character. So that’s why he wants the essence. That’s the neutral route.
In the “Fun” Route, you listen to Dan and start collecting the essence as usual, but then meet NaN out of bounds and he gives you the slAsh, and in that route you just slAsh everyone regardless if your suppost to talk to them or not. Of course you end up unaliving Dan, and the final boss of that route is NaN, after he steals the essence for himself.
and then for the pacifist route, you only collect essence from the bad blobs by stomping on them, and everyone thats good survives. I don’t know who should be the final boss for that route though. Maybe the great blob?
do you guys have ideas to add on or change? You can make your whole own idea for it if you want but that was me and Danny’s idea.
