Hi Does Anyone want to do a Collab of a Fantasy Dungeon Crawler?

Is the combat supposed to be turn based? or would it be more like Zelda combat?

I think it would be better to use Zelda combat because its way easier to code. The ā€œGalleryā€ Does have some template animations but they need improving. If development keeps progressing, even slowly, if we get there I can write the story. I feel like if we can lock in, this game could be a huge success. Just depends on if you guys @ThatPrismaticEntity , @SpookyMan , @mcodes , @CodeOnTheCob and @Mr_Duck are still up for the challenge, along with anyone else Who’s willing to join. Who’s with me!?

Alrighty!!! Lets get this going!!! I’m currently working on combat, tilemaps, refining the music, & NPC Interactions. Once I’m done, I’ll need someone to help link up the tilemaps, and someone to program the bosses.

Rough outline of the story so far:

Kid needs to leave village to go send letter to the castle, leaves village, and goes to Rocky Plains. Kid gets a dagger from NPC, fights enemies, then finds key to the first mini dungeon, and fights mini boss. Once that’s done the new path opens up to the levels leading up to the castle (Dark forest, & Snowy mountain) Once kid gets to the castle kid looks around but something is… off. kid goes deeper into the castle, fights final boss, world is saved, the end.

Pronouns: Kid/Kid

Oh sure! I’m going to be mainly using stuff from the gallery, but for everything else help would be nice. We need some consept art for the mini boss, and the final boss. For the mini boss, can you base it off Eram from Deltarune? Not sure about final the final boss though…Still brainstorming that one. Once I post the link with my stuff done you can add sprites/animations to the actual game. Also, it’s *Kids pronouns but your fine

I’m loving the game so far but the character is a bit hard to control and I haven’t been in here for the coding or am very good but if you could the players speed a bit lower it would make it easier to play

I’ve said this 3 Times. Those were just navigation tests, the player movement will be slower shortly. your ok though, its your first post in this topic. :+1:

UPDATE V.03

What’s done:

  • Player Movement & Sword Mechanics
  • Tilemaps (Excluding village, & Boss arenas)
  • Tracks including Shop, Castle, Island Citadel, and Deep Castle have been finalised
  • Snake Enemy

Next step:

We need someone to code the side quest leading up to the mini dungeon.

Its where you find the 3 peices of ā€œThe Flippersā€ scattered around in the corners of Rocky Plains, then you can swim to the first mini dungeon.

@Hulahoop , can you make a ā€œYou got Itemā€ animation for and swimming animations for Kid?

I need someone else to code the actual mechanics for the side quest though.

The swimming animations needs help because it doesn’t work! u got this! and with ā€œ you got an itemā€ animation you can draw an item above the last one or more. they are all next to the previous animations.

Yo, so I saw this and I made the menus (Title screen, settings screen, and inventory). I also organized the block code, and added achievements! @Danny_Devention sorry, but something I did messed up the attack anim. other than that it’s fine. oh and whoever did the snake enemies, they only move when you walk into them and get damaged.
