I'll make you a robot!

WELCOME!
I’ve just purchased a set of components so I can start making robots using makecode arcade. The problem is, I don’t have many robot ideas! SO I’ll need your help to reply to this and give me your best robot ideas. I’ll pick my favorites to build and then send you a little video or image or something like that!

Extras

Is jumping straight from powering one LED to making entire robots going to be hard and out of my comfort zone? Yes, but thats the best way I learn! (Heck, I learned 3D animation out of boredom by pressing all the buttons…) This also means that there isn’t a promise that these robots will work or be high quality.

The parts (Called 'Components')

I’m using the KEYESTUDIO Basic Starter Kit for Micro: bit. Yes technically this is for the micro: bit and not the meow bit but it actually works the same, because they have the same pin connector!

I HIGHLY recommend this set to any other makecode arcaders wanting to branch out into robotics! Great price, high quality, and there is a detailed instruction manual and projects!

Cooklings

They are little robotic creatures who stand out at cooking, and they can stir, mix, chop, and any cooking task you want the little guys to! Just… …give them a rest from time to time.

I don’t care what function it serves, just make a robot related to traffic cones.

A simple pathfinding robot would be a good start!

I like how half the people here are making good suggestions and the other people are just making ridiculous suggestions.

Oh, what about this then?

Traffies

Scientific name: Fur-creatura Viarum
The Traffies are little creatures which have an appearance similar to that of a traffic cone, ( hence the name ) specifically evolving to that shape to steal humans’ pertenences that they have in their cars. They can be tamed, but wild traffies will steal anything yours if you don’t store your pertenences carefully, specially those objects in your car. If you manage to tame one from birth, you are very lucky, since these are very hard to get to stop doing what their DNA tells them to do, specially at a very young age.

The diet is just for the creature’s documentation.

Diet:

  • Insects ( Such as earthworms, catterpillars, and other insects that can’t fly. )
  • Fruit ( These are healthy if moderately fed. If fed with this in excess, it might get sick or refuse to eat anything for a long time. ~3 days )
  • Vegetables ( These are intolerant to carrots, eggplants, spinach (by itself) and zuchinni. )
  • Solid crystals / Rocks ( These are intolerant to igneous and metamorphic rocks. )
  • Water-based liquids ( Ex: Juice, Smoothies, among others. )
  • Water
  • Protein-rich food ( Mostly bugs and insects )

This is surprisingly in-depth for such a stupid idea.

I love it!

First reply is first on my list! This also satisfies @ThatUruguayanGuy 's idea!
This seems simple: have a knife on a servo motor to chop things. One problem: there is no way I am giving my robot a knife!
I have decided the robot shall be gaven a plastic butterknife to use instead. It will still chop, but will have no real blade for demonstrative purposes!
I also added a whisk mode for the ‘stir and mix’ suggestion!
Here is the link to the video:

Can I use your usernames in the full video?
  • You can use my name in the full video!
  • Please don’t include me in the video.
  • I’m not part of this discussion, BUT I WANTED TO CLICK POLL BUTTONS!!

also a little tip use words over text its easier to understand and I don’t have to pause the video every five seconds to read

A little confused at first but I think you mean a voiceover! Yeah, I’ll try that

This is pretty good! I have another suggestion: This isn’t quite a robot but you could use buttons or a joystick or something to add new functionalities to the meowbit (like trigger buttons)! I’ve wanted to try this but haven’t had the time.

I just realized that you probably don’t have a joystick, you can get one here: https://www.amazon.com/HiLetgo-Controller-JoyStick-Breakout-Arduino/dp/B00P7QBGD2/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3RVSOOTEHE0DS&keywords=arduino+joystick&qid=1691499686&s=electronics&sprefix=arduino+joystick%2Celectronics%2C96&sr=1-4
