Should I make this a full game?
My submission for my first ever game jam - had tons of fun making this!
I even made a trailer for the game which can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4ZQxZY-rLY
Description:
Ivar is a puzzle game with a twist - the enemies move in the opposite direction as you. Your goal is to make your way through each level and defeat Ravi - your arch nemesis. Get creative in order to complete all 25 levels.
All music and art (except for a few default assets) were made by me. I’m not an artist or anything so this was quite an exiting challenge.
Wow! This is so cool! I love the intro cutscene.
I expected a platformer, but I love the cute puzzles! The jiggly animation is sooo satisfying. You should definitely finish this!
This game is epic! I could never make this as well and as smooth as you could! Wow! As a word of feedback, maybe you could make Ivar move faster from place to place than making him settle?
This game is great! one thing I think you should do is change the animation speed. for example, change 100ms interval to 50ms interval. this will make the game feel more smooth and make the animations look better without adding frames! other than that, I love the animations. Keep up the good work and don’t stop working on this project!
Thank you for the feedback! If I do come back to this I’ll try to make movement a little faster, either by increasing dash speed or minimising the cool down.
Wow love it!! Definitely one of the best puzzle games out there it’s already super polished.
I highly recommend not using scaled up pixel art, the scaling process does leave some odd pixel sizings
I am not making a new puzzle game anytime soon. (though it is my favorite genre) Instead I am making a HUGE platformer RPG. Your charcter will have a lot of customizable moves to pick from. I’ve added shops with unique items. So far I’ve coded 3 bosses too. I think this will be one of the biggest games on the forms. School is speeding up though, so I’ll release soon-ish.
