I made a wall jumping game on the forum. When you complete the game, start over and try doing it without touching the ground. The only time you can touch the ground is at the start and finish. Its kinda like I don’t know sideways parkour?
This is cool
I like the part where you jump to space then to the moon
@Adri314 Hey, I was updating some of our homepage examples to use the new version of tilemaps, so I went through Jumping Mateo (as it’s still one of my favorite games on here) and updated it to use the new APIs:
The main upside is it uses the tilemap editor, so it’s easier to draw levels / the limit on tiles per tilemap is significantly higher
(I think I got the tiles matched block for block, but upgrading was a manual process / I did end up redrawing all of them so sorry if there’s a mistake!)
Wow, @jwunderl, thanks so much for updating this! It was in my to-do list before the pandemic hit and I had to homeschool the real Mateo and his brothers. As a matter of fact we are coding platformer games in my school’s online coding club and my students are coming up with great things using the new editor. This is such a nice platform for young creative minds!
Glad to hear it, and hope you’re doing well! If you run into any issues / need anything be sure to let us know ~
I agree this is such a great platform for young creative minds! My son Mateo loves your game and my youngest son, age 4, says it’s his favorite!
Thank you! It is still a big favorite here
Great game. I like how the character blinks and the last of level 10
I noticed that most of the community games are made by you. Which is nice.
I’m very happy to have been featured there. This really is a great tool.
teach meeeeeeee (
True I always play them when I’m bored I wish I had mine on there.
same tho
this game is great!
hey,are you going to add more worlds and levels soon?
Hmm, I probably should. I was thinking of adding some with added physics, like maybe ice levels where the ice is actually slippery. But it all depends on my schedule
I have 2 ideas for new worlds, and they both have a gimmick. my first idea is a desert world, with quicksand that slowly sinks you in to it,but it will look different from normal ground tile, and you could jump out of it. and my second idea is a beach world, with water you can swim in, and maybe it could be a alternate path.
