that’s right, you heard it here first! jumpy platformer, after 6 YEARS, is getting a fanmade deluxe edition created by yours truly! it’ll be a complete overhaul - new level designs, movement, physics, sounds, you name it! this screenshot is here to show you what’s to come in the near future, so stay tuned until then!
here’s your first peek at the movement and animations!
it’s just a proof of concept at the time this post goes up, so everything you see here is subject to change, but as it is right now, i’m really happy with the results!
so how are you all feeling about my rendition of jumpy? he’s more detailed, his hands and legs are a little chunkier for readability, and his eyes have a bit more soul in them. he also has more than just a double jump like he did in the original. he has…
double jump - self explanatory.
wall kick - you can now slide down and kick up off of walls, chaining between two or repeatedly kicking off of one and gaining height. this doesn’t use a double jump, and unlike literally every other game i’ve put a wall jump in, has its own animation.
ground pound - pressing down on the D-pad midair allows you to ground pound. it’s the typical platformer “butt-bomb” ground pound you see pretty often in games like super mario or yoshi’s island, where jumpy does a frontflip and comes crashing down to the ground.
not that scary, is it? bit simpler than my other platformer movesets i’ve made, right? well, even still, the movement you can get out of stringing the different moves together is ABSOLUTELY NUTTY. and quick teaser, there’s gonna be a few more movement options coming soon that i think you’ll like, wink-wink-nudge-nudge. anyway, that’s all i have to say for now, have fun messing around with the movement, i’ll catch you all in the next update!
@Brainstorm_Studios I wanna clarify I was mainly joking with that last post. You go ahead and keep doing what your doing. I actually do like your spin on it if I’m being honest. Only issue is we are technically still competing even if we say otherwise…
it my opinion, i think it’s better if we let JP remastered and JP deluxe be their own projects instead of having to compete. mainly because i don’t like conflict, but mostly because i like helping other people out and being a good influence on the forums instead of a form of competition.
The game looks cool, but are you going to use the makecode pallete in future versions? I feel like the game would look better with more vibrant colors.
