Clickers are idle games─as you probably know. But─what if we brought aspects from platforming and action games and fused them with idle games? Introducing the Mario Clicker!
Mario Clicker
Mario Clicker is a game based on Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. and uses assets ripped straight from the original game. How do you play, you ask? Well, it’s simple. You only use one button!
The player is greeted with the title screen of the game─in nice blue and white colours. The beginning of the Overworld Theme from Super Mario Bros. plays. The screen then slides upward─and a second after─the game starts. Instructions on how to play the game appear.
When the player jumps, the coin counter’s value raises by 1 and a sound effect plays. Reaching 100 coins will reset the counter and will give you a 1-UP. A progress bar on the top-left corner of the screen will display how far you are from earning a 1-UP.
That’s pretty much all there is to the game. Now, have fun!
Why is this so awesome.
Btw, how on earth did you make that rotated mario, with the little shadow effect, and the font?
My only suggestion is making it so that you collect coins only when mario hits his head on the block, and to make it so that the block kind of bounces for a moment when its hit. Oh and also that it shootss a little coin upwards that later despawns. Like the real game.
I made the title screen with Photopea (Photoshop without the shop), although limiting myself to Makecode Arcade’s low screen resolution and maximum colour-on-display count of 15. It’s actually just an image imported into Makecode! Simple.
