My ELEMENTAL pokemon-based game

I am making a ripoff of pokemon games in general, and I just finished a demo battle. Here it is! I will (most likely) see this game through, so expect updates somewhat often.

Info about the weird symbols next to attacks:

The square means that this attack comes with the elemental, and it is a fire type attack (signified by the square being red)

This is an attack from a scroll (info on that eventually), indicated by the plus. And it is a fire type attack, signified by the plus being red.

This is just the symbol for the item menu.

Info about attacks:
Player attacks

Ember has the following attacks (one from a scroll):

  • Fireball: 10dmg. Shoots a fireball at the opponent.
  • Fire Blade: 25dmg. Slashes the opponent with a red-hot blade.
Enemy attacks

Twin Aqua has the following attacks:

  • Bubble Barrage: 10dmg. Shoots bubbles at you.
  • Water Jet: 15dmg. Shoots a high-powered burst of water at you.
  • HP Increase: Increases Twin Aqua’s HP by 25

Pebble has the following attacks:

  • Rock Throw: 15dmg. Hurls a small rock at you.
  • Rock Hard: Increases Pebble’s ability to evade.
Info about the one item included:

The one item that is included in this demo is the Apple. All it does is heal you by 40HP. You only have two to use, though. Also, using items takes up your turn.

Info about what is to come:

In an update (or multiple updates) that will come sooner or later, I will add the following:

  • The ability to capture other Elementals and use them instead.
  • The ability to get and equip scrolls to Elementals (scrolls have attacks on them).
  • A small world to explore and find wild Elementals.
  • And more! (not telling you what the “more” is… yet.)
What “Evolving” will look like:

“Evolving” in this game is instead….

Upgrading!

You’ll have to pay VP (varying cost(more on VP later)) to upgrade your Elemental into a new one (with a new attack, too!). You can also upgrade scrolls the same way. Note that to upgrade an Elemental, the Elemental must be a certain level.

VP and XP:

VP:

VP (Victory Points) are earned when you knock out an opposing Elemental, and you can use it in:

  • VP stores
  • Upgrading (scrolls and Elementals)
  • Creation spells (now what could that be…?)

XP:

XP (Experience Points) are earned when you finish a battle and are specific to Elementals. When an Elemental has enough XP, the Elemental levels up. Each level up requires more XP than the last!

Also, just a small note: Elementals are the Pokemon in this game.

Something that I forgot to add:

Scrolls

Scrolls are basically attacks, but with the ability to be assigned to an Elemental. That Elemental would then be able to use the attack while in battle.

nice fight mechanic here is a map with the wild bushes h

Update #1!

This update includes the following:

  • A new (tiny) map to explore!
  • Wild Elementals in the tall grasses!
  • A new Elemental… Dirt!

Please make note that the stuff from the Makecode gallery is temporary, as I am very bad at pixel art (at least for making people), and my friend is going to make the sprites and tiles for me. Also, if you find any glitches, please report them so I can fix them.

Dirt’s attacks:

Dirt has the following moves:

  • Earthquake: 20dmg. Shakes the ground.
  • Rock Throw: 15dmg. Hurls a rock at you (same as Pebble)

For whatever reason, it seems like I can’t access the map, I’m not sure why this happened, but maybe just put a screenshot of the map.

Sooooo… It’s impossible to beat Twin Aqua. I got it down to 30 hp. It attacked me. Then, on my turn I used Fire Blade. It now has 5 hp. On its turn, it used some healy movey thingy. It now has 30 hp.
