So I was thinking, maybe we should have a 3rd trust basic trust level, for people like @Sarge and @PixelDoodle, since they’ve contributed so much to the community. Just a thought I had.

There IS A third trust level called REGULAR. but, only mods have it.

Yeahhh… bout’ that… That might not happen anytime soon.
When a user increases a trust level, he / she gets more power over the community. They could now privately message, build badges, ban others from the community, delete or restore flagged posts, so on and so forth. These type of things are only done by the moderators. Though as I was saying, a step up to a new trust level means that you can handle all of those tasks with all fairness + equity and you have proven to be extremely trustworthy in the eyes of the administrators. Lots of us are still High school teens, maturity + great responsibility (Not trying to be rude or anything) may not have hit them hard enough yet. However, we don’t really get to see a user’s true faces, we don’t exactly predict who to trust, who will always follow the code of conduct with admin powers, just by looking at their list of achievements. Usually, if all of the new features that come with a promotion is abused, boy oh boy, there will be chaos.
Makecode is kinda like a hierachy. Microsoft’s highest men makes these rules, they are the elites as shown in the picture. The moderators of these forums are usually the leaders up there. Those leaders, they enforce the rules, they regulate the forums. The elites are the ones of built makecode with their bare hands, the moderators add onto that and make it even better. We can go up to Novice, but no higher than that. The regulars, I would say, are kinda like apprentice admins? While they do have higher power than us, they don’t have as much power as the moderators and the leaders of microsoft themselves. Either way, getting into the regular tier means that the person is capable of showing a true responsibility. The upper 3 levels looks down to us, our posts, our games, all of it. They are giants compared to us. The bigger you are, the stronger you are. The stronger you are, the more fearful you’ll get. However, those giants don’t exactly go any further than that. They only times they usually use ban powers is for the greater good. Sure banning someone until 2099 is cruel. However, themeselves are forced to make hard decisions to make the best ones under a ton of pressure.
Ask yourself this, what would happen if @richard became a despot? Out of all the moderators, @richard’s pigeon pfp probably has the highest power. Then, we would all have to threaten him physically in some way. And force him to sign a treaty regarding his powers. See, giving powers to the inexperienced (based on leadership + admin qualities) is the same exact way to bring chaos as if a moderator just banned any user in sight who had at least one flagged post. So they fortunately keep us all at a basic level, and it looks like we’ll all be stuck in this level for a while.
The least the moderators could do was let us gain up to 2 levels, teach us about them and make us to be at least a teen (I think that’s when all the maturity and puberty starts to kick in) to join the forums. Even the adults don’t get a say in this, the highest honor they could get was getting their game in the community levels page during the start of the forum. But times have changed, my friend, they now have too much time on their hands (not to mention many moderators became inactive for a very long time). With a new flow of huge things and new users + moderators flowing in, they hardly do that anymore. Now they are very busy accepting posts, dealing with a flagging post clan, streaming daily and trying to make this forum a better place for everyone. Now the best thing we could all do is not to question them and listen to them as much as possible. The least thing they wanna do is to deal with a corrupt admin on the forums.
Now don’t get me wrong. @Sarge and @PixelDoodle are indeed huge contributors in Makecode Forum. Maybe they do indeed deserve new trust + power of the eyes of Makecode. However, the makecode staff doesn’t exactly believe in favoritism when they are looking for people to promote to higher power. Oppurtunnities like these don’t come every often, based off of the amount of users roaming here. They may never come (hopefully they will someday). So likely we’ll all be stuck at level 1 for a while.

Wow a post this long is impressive (as long as you didn’t use an ai or something lol). As for trust levels, I mostly agree with you (though the TL3 that was officially stated allows bans of people only at TL0, not higher), but personally I think that a TL3 that is limited could be good. If it only added like maybe a TL3 lounge, more likes, and maybe a bit more freedom in the approval system (maybe in short posts), I think it could work. Or they could just take the route of having it be a status, basically like a badge. (Btw this post is just my opinion, also I would probably be TL3 if it existed.)

I don’t use AI for writing essays
Though I do agree with you on that restricted TL3 level, it would be better for us users not to have functions restricted too much such as the amount of hearts we can give daily without much worrying about power abuse
