Firstly, I like the art. Maybe you could add some background decorations but it already works fine.
You could improve the background a bit by adding some layers and making them move at different speeds. Also, make the movement speed slower than the movement speed of the camera, else it feels unrealistic.
Also, it’s a really good choice that you put jump on the A button since it allows for more precise inputs with 2 hands and also makes it mobile friendly.
But you should consider allowing the player jump as long as they hold A, because it is a little annoying if you input A right before a platform and it doesn’t jump
I think this game has high potential if you work on it a bit

I think you need to figure out what you want the game to be. As of now, it seems to just be a platformer with basically no mechanics. Alongside Errorpixel’s ideas, i would suggest working on some mechanics for your game.
